More than 6 monts of research to get in touch with 3 Italian companies producing 3 new kinds of flexible films.

Flexible wood
A new ecological process that transforms a thin and breakable foil of wood in an incredible strong and flexible sheet, without modifying the complexity and the sense of touch of the original wood.

Flexible mirror film

It’s a new material that really doesn’t exist (a real flexible mirror with a perfect 99% of reflection). I still collaborate with an italian company that produces it. The experiments are going well, and probably in one year we will introduce the new product on the market.

New texturizable PVC film
It’s not a new product, but the company I found has a long experience and an incredible choice of texture and special effects. But, very important, they like to think outside the box.

To induce the design comunity to think about these new materials I decided to realize a product that uses in a smart way the peculiarity of these films. I like the sense of touch of these materials, I like the possibility to flex it and to use it to break the concept of planar surface (especially when we thik about wood or a mirror we think about a rigid plane). At the end I realized TETRA.

The table is one of the best ways to have a touch experience with a new material and the rounded shape is a good geometrical concept to break the plane and to use flexible applications.

TETRA is my way to introduce these products and to invite everybody to think outside the box and outside the plane.

The structure of TETRA is realized in rotational molding proces, 100% LDPP.

TETRA is easy to recycle, you have less than the 0.5% of the product in different materials. The film on the TOP is 100% ecological, easy to remove and to reuse.

Obvious, TETRA is still looking for a producer.
